While African women in Darfur were being raped by the Janjaweed militiamen, Arab women stood nearby and sang for joy, according to an Amnesty International report published yesterday. The songs of the Hakama, or the "Janjaweed women" as the refugees call them, encouraged the atrocities committed by the militiamen.
The women singers stirred up racial hatred against black civilians during attacks on villages in Darfur and celebrated the humiliation of their enemies, the human rights group said.

The awful truth is that Arabs ravaged Africa for a 1000 years before Europeans ever began to export black slaves. In fact, the Arabic word for 'black' ("abed") is also the same word for 'slave.' Far more Africans were swallowed up in the fourteen hundred years of Islamic slave trading than in the three European centuries in which it was practiced.
Muhammad owned and sold black slaves. Slavery, in fact, persists to this day in some Muslim countries, where Arabs continue to enslave black Africans. Commissioners at one of the country's biggest airports are considering punishing Muslim cab drivers who refuse service to passengers possessing alcohol or guide dogs. The cabbies claim transporting those items violates Islamic law.
Three-quarters of the 900 cabbies licensed to operate at the airport are Muslim, most from Somalia. ... Minnesota's Muslim American Society had offered a compromise measure last year to color code cabs that would not transport alcohol, but the airport commission turned the proposal down.
It is amazing that the Muslim cabbies do not also demand that they be exempted from carrying other things offensive to Islam, like : Salman Rushdie, Danish Cartoonists, Swedish Cartoonists, Bengali cartoonists, Jews, Christians, homosexuals, transsexuals, Baha'is, Ahmadiyahs, Ex-Muslims, crosses, Star of Davids, Bibles, Torahs, the Veda, Buddha statues, Hindu statues, white socks , uncovered women, prostitutes, a copy of the Satanic Verses or The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam, magazines containing videos-cartoons-criticisms offensive to Islam, music instruments/CDs and photos of the Pope.
Oh, and things containing pork fat, pork enzymes, pork scratchings, or Burger King's non-halal quarterpounds, Miss Piggy's T-shirts and other depictions of pigs or dogs or any other living being (incl. the photo on your passport) AND things containing alcohol (perfume, face cream, disinfectant, mosquito spray, mouth wash etc).

Kiran Shahzadi (15) was rebuked for wearing the cross and ordered to remove it from her neck. She refused, saying the “cross is our Christian religious symbol so I cannot remove it.” Her teacher began beating Kiran, then took her to the headteacher who also mistreated her. The cross was pulled from her neck and thrown in the rubbish bin. Kiran was then made to stand in the scorching sun for several hours without water until she fainted.

Muslims angered at depiction in German carnival

Cologne, Germany • An estimated two million people took to the streets of Germany's Rhine region for the climax of the carnival season yesterday but Muslim representatives criticised the celebrations.
The carnival floats in parades through the region's cities traditionally take an irreverent look at world events, but the Central Council of Muslims in Germany condemned one float in Duesseldorf which featured fibreglass models of two bearded men wearing turbans and explosives belts and brandishing guns.
The word "Cliche" was printed on one of the men, while the other bore the word "Reality."
The depiction of Islam was "barefaced lies" and the float was "using negative images to seek attention," the Central Council's Secretary-General Aiman Mazyek told today's edition of the Westdeutsche Zeitung daily.

SHKODER, Albania (Reuters) - Muslims in Albania's northern city of Shkoder are opposing plans to erect a statue to Mother Teresa, the ethnic Albanian Catholic nun in line for elevation to sainthood by the Vatican.
The dispute is unusual for Albania, where religion was banned for 27 years under the regime of dictator Enver Hoxha and where religious harmony and mixed marriages are the norm. Seventy percent of the population are liberal Muslims, the rest are Christian Orthodox and Catholic.
But Muslim groups in Shkoder rejected the local council plan for a Teresa statue, saying it "would offend the feelings of Muslims."
"We do not want this statue to be erected in a public place because we see her as a religious figure," said Bashkim Bajraktari, Shkoder's mufti or Muslim religious leader. "If there must be a statue, let it be in a Catholic space."

It is worth mentioning that although some people may think that this Christian-owned liquor store was particularly targeted because the owner is selling the forbidden alcoholic beverages that is forbidden in Islam, but another liquor store in front of the Christian-owned store happens to be owned by a Moslem merchant, and none of the thugs dared to attack, as they did with the Christian-owned store. Now you can see the hateful sectarian actions.
[...] The Islamic teachings that was brought by Mohammed 14 centuries ago should be faced with courage and boldness, we should expose and show its faults and warn humanity of its dangers.

The censorship code in the country bans depictions of prophets in films. Husnita Ismail, an avid movie-goer, explained, saying, "To us Muslims, Jesus is a prophet. 2006-2007 : TV station, SCTV, had to apologize for showing Catholics celebrating Christmas in traditional gear = the black hat (Kopiah) and headcover. The Muslims consider that to be Muslim attire and alleged SCTV of indulging in Christianization and demanded an apology. Indonesian Mubalighs strongly recommended to the Ministry in charge of Christian affairs to ban the circulation of all Bibles referring to Allah. Christian priests received strong warning

August 2000 : Muslim object to Christian teaching in Irian Jaya (on the border with PNG) fearing 'threat to security'. Muslims want to be 'protected' if Christians 'apply Christian law.' If this was not a serious affair, many would have laughed their heads off.

The photos were used in a art photo exhibition at the Indonesian Central Bank Museum. The Front for Defenders of Islam (FPI) protested strongly. Anjas was taken to the police station for questioning.
March 2006: Yusman Roy was jailed for two years because he believes that Muslims should pray in a language they can understand. Roy, who led bilingual prayer sessions at his small East Java boarding school, is seen as a heretic by conservative Muslims here. They believe true prayer can be conducted only in Arabic.
Sumardi Tappaya, 60, a high school religious teacher on the island of Sulawesi, was locked up in January after a relative told police he had heard Sumardi whistling while he prayed. The whistling was declared deviant by the local ulemas, and Sumardi faced five years in prison for religious blasphemy.
Ardhi Husain, 50, who ran an Islamic center in East Java that treated drug addiction and cancer with traditional medicine and prayer, was sentenced in September to five years in prison for writing a book that the ulemas said contained 70 "errors," such as claiming that Muhammad was not the last prophet and that non-Muslims could go to heaven. Five editors of the book also received five-year terms. An employee who sold a copy to a neighbor received three years.
After Husain's arrest, a mob burned down his facility. No one has been arrested in the attack.
Lia Aminuddin, 58, who claims to be the Virgin Mary and leads the quasi-Islamic God's Kingdom of Eden cult, was arrested in December on blasphemy charges after thousands of angry protesters surrounded her headquarters in Jakarta. The ulemas and demonstrators accused her of insulting Islam by claiming that she was married to the archangel Gabriel and that God spoke to her through him. (In Islam, Gabriel, or Jibril, is revered as the archangel who communicated God's word to Muhammad.)

May 2007: the Majelis Ulama (MUI) demanded that a VCD about the life of Muhammad that allegedly has a picture of Muhammad on its video cover, be withdrawn. A raid was immediately conducted to avoid explosion of Muslim anger.

June 2007: Thousands (then corrected to hundreds) of Muslims protested and demanded that a Catholic national convention at Karmel Mount be banned to avoid 'unrest' between religions. The convention went ahead amidst heavy security.

26 Aug 2007 : Singer Rebecca Soejati falls afoul of Islamic law in Aceh.
The singer from the Netherlands was performing on stage in Banda Aceh on 26th August in front of 4,000 people in support of the Jakarta-based band “Nidji” when the head covering that she was obliged to wear in the sharia-law province got caught in the wind and fell off, revealing her head, and the hair on top of it. Because of this she had to leave the stage and the concert ended abruptly.
